Problem Statement
If we learn about precognition, we might be able to start using it to our advantage. For example, if we could see the future of global warming, maybe we could help prevent it. If we learn about telepathy, we could communicate over long distances without cell phones. We could communicate important information even faster than we are today.
This is a Problem Based Learning Project. That is, it is open-ended research without a pre-defined outcome or engineered component.
It seems clear that both precognition and telepathy exist in some form within the human species. Quantifying it and separating fact from fiction is extremely difficult. This project used Rhine decks, among various age groups, in an attempt to determine if there there was any bias in both general precognition and telepathy beyond what would be expected in random sampling.
Initial sampling revealed a bias toward telepathy where the scientist could see the card pattern while the subject could not. Furthermore, there was a greater bias toward correct answers when the subject was a student as opposed to an adult.
This has the potential to be a ground breaking project which requires additional sampling.
